Session Title:
TUNE-IN Presentation & Workshop – Changing Power Structures in the Classical Music World
Overview:
The classical music world faces ongoing challenges with power abuse and its detrimental effects on mental health. While top-down reform is critical, empowering musicians to create change from the ground up is equally vital. This session introduces TUNE-IN, a toolkit designed to support musicians' mental health and agency through:
Mental health services for individuals, groups, and organizations.
Conferences on resilience, trauma, and collaborative leadership.
Advocacy initiatives, including a pan-European working group for artists’ mental health and improved working conditions.
Workshop Highlights:
This interactive session includes a brief project presentation followed by discussions exploring key questions:
What additional elements should be included in TUNE-IN’s offerings?
How can we effectively reach those in need?
What sustainable business models could support this initiative?
How could this program benefit you or your organization?
Workshop Facilitators:
Heather O’Donnell (TGR The Green Room, Cologne) – Psychologist and systemic therapist specializing in resilience, systemic change, and leadership.
Angela Büche (Stimmig-Leben Consultancy, Salzburg/Vienna) – Leadership consultant and coach focusing on stage performance, career development, and resource management.
Dr. Paul Roe (Royal Irish Academy of Music, The Art of Collaboration) – Clarinettist and coach specializing in co-active leadership and trust-building.
This collaborative session will foster dialogue and actionable insights to shape the future of mental health and leadership in classical music.
