OPEN STAGE & Talk with Aleksey Semenenko and Inna Firsova
On June 16 there will be a special OPEN STAGE (at 6:00 pm) followed by a talk / performance with the internationally renowned violin-piano duo: Aleksey Semenenko and Inna Firsova.
Aleksey Semenenko and Inna Firsova, both of Ukrainian origin, are internationally recognized soloists, chamber musicians and teachers.
Since the beginning of the war, they have become advocates and mentors for Ukrainian musicians and other Ukrainian artists.
Aleksey Semenenko was featured in a short documentary film by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: From the Stage into War.
Bass-baritone Maksim Andreenkov will perform at OPEN STAGE, along with his wife, Anastasiia Kolabanova.
Maksim Andreenkov was born in Kazakhstan and sang at the three major theaters in Moscow (Bolshoi, Stanislavsky Theater, Helikon Opera House), until early March, when his participation in the protests in Moscow against Putin's war made it impossible for him to continue living and working in Russia. Since June, he has been an Artist-in-Residence at The Green Room, his stay is supported by the Kunststiftung NRW and Artists-at-Risk.
Also on the program: Ukrainian soprano Lidiia Basova will perform with pianist Amina Chobanzade. Both Lidiia and Amina are from Odessa and currently living in NRW. Their participation is funded by the F. Victor Rolff Foundation.
