Anna Triebel-Thome
Anna Triebel-Thome studied Education and Philosophy at the University of Marburg and graduated in Movement Education from the School of the Art of Moving, New York. Her training included intensive studies of western and eastern somatic teachings and raising of awareness. She worked with Moshe Feldenkrais, who personally trained her as a Feldenkrais teacher in his methods "Awareness through Movement" and "Functional Integration". After his death, Anna Triebel Thome was certified by Mia Segal for teacher training in the Feldenkrais method. Her studies in Asian movement arts led her to H. Yamada, New York (Aikido), Y. Ishihara, Berlin (Iaido / Sword Art) as well as W.C. Chen, New York (Tai Chi) and G.F. Feng, Colorado (Tai Chi), each of which she is licensed to teach. She received training in ritual dance and rhythmic forms of movement from Magda van der Walle (Belgium), training in the movement and awareness work of Elsa Gindler and Heinrich Jacoby from Sophie Ludwig (Berlin), as well as training and teaching in sign language (ancient Greek sign language) with Silvia Ostertag in Seeg.
Her introductory book to the work of Feldenkrais "Feldenkrais: Bewegung - ein Weg zum Selbst" [Feldenkrais: Movement - a way to one’s self] (Junfermann Verlag) has now been published in its 16th edition. Building on the studies described above, Anna Triebel Thome has worked with Performing Arts students at the Universität der Künste in Berlin for the past 30 years, taking into account the specific needs and conditions inherent in this professional field, and developing her own approach to movement and the raising of awareness for performers.
