Benefit concert with Maksim Andreenkov & Anastasiia Kolabanova

Maksim Andreenkov & Anastasiia Kolabanova

On Saturday, September 3 at 7:00 pm, The Green Room will host a benefit concert for Russian singers Maksim Andreenkov and Anastasiia Kolabanova.

Maksim and Anastasiia were outspoken critics of Russia's war against Ukraine and participated in protests in Moscow as early as February 24, 2022. Their protest actions led to the imprisonment of Maksim and a subsequent ban on all professional engagements in Russia.

100% of the proceeds of this concert will go to the artists to assist them in building a new life in Cologne.

Maksim Andreenkov was born in Kazakhstan and sang at the three major theaters in Moscow (Bolshoi, Stanislavsky Theater, Helikon Opera House). Maksim is the 3rd prize winner of the "Donauwelle" 2022 competition organized by Bayerisch-Russischer Kulturverein and the 2017 winner of the Gran Prix in the Moscow International competition “F. I. CHALIAPIN”. He has been artist-in-residence at The Green Room since June. His residency is supported by the Kunststiftung NRW and Artists-at-Risk.

Anastasiia Kolabanova is a soprano and pianist who was completing her studies at the Victor Popov Academy of Choral Art in Moscow. She is the winner of the first prize at the Russian Competition of Vocal and Instrumental Arts of the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center.

The program includes works by Ravel, Mozart, Gounod, Lehar, Sviridov and Ukrainian folk songs. The wonderful pianist from Odessa, Amina Chobanzade, will accompany.

  • Donations for the artists are gratefully accepted.
