Creative Evolutions: TWO GOLDSBYS AND A TEST
American musicians Robin Meloy Goldsby, John Goldsby, and Billy Test converge for a grand evening of meaningful storytelling and music.
Part One: Familiar Places—Author and pianist Robin Meloy Goldsby presents her newest program of solo piano music and musings about personal transitions she has made since moving to Germany in 1994. Goldsby serves as a cultural ambassador for European organizations dedicated to transatlantic relations and women’s rights. Robin has performed for King Charles at Buckingham Palace, Chancellor Angela Merkel, and most recently the Pennsylvania Supreme Court at the installation of Chief Justice Debra Todd.
Part Two: Speak with a Purpose—Jazz pianist Billy Test and bassist John Goldsby celebrate the transparent beauty of piano and bass duo music. The program spans a century of popular music tradition—from standards to original compositions. Test and Goldsby have been making music together for over five years, constantly evolving and adapting to a wide range of genres and styles as members of the renowned Grammy Award-winning WDR Big Band in Cologne, Germany.
The series „Creative Evolutions in The Green Room” invites artists with a deep ability to guide and inspire others to present talk-concerts in TGR The Green Room in Cologne, a center devoted to supporting performers’ health and well-being. These invited artists have forged unique approaches to their careers and opened up new possibilities for themselves and others by challenging previously narrow confines of their artistic work. The artists are not only deeply evolved artists, but also impactful mentors, allies, and advocates.
