Yana Novotorova
Yana Novotorova is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and certified yoga instructor. She is originally from Kiev, Ukraine, where she studied psychology and foreign languages. In 2017, she completed her bachelor's degree in dance and dance education at the Center for Contemporary Dance in Cologne, Germany, and has been developing her own work ever since. In 2021 she produced her first full-length performance " Studies On Symbolic Violence Vol.1 ", which premiered in Berlin. In 2022 she developed the dance piece "Recircling" in co-production with tanzhaus nrw (Düsseldorf).
Yana's artistic work is rooted in her movement practice, which she enjoys sharing in various educational contexts. Yana has taught contemporary dance, Axis Syllabus and Contact Improvisation at Tanzfaktur, Rheinische Musikschule Köln, Ehrenfeldstudios, tanzhaus nrw, Cologne Centre for Dance Arts (CODA), as well as in professional training Cologne. Since 2022 she teaches Vinyasa Yoga in different studios in Cologne.
