Partita Radicale meets Fabian Neubauer (piano/electronics) and Carlota Ramos (double bass)
For over 30 years, the Cologne/Wuppertal-based ensemble for improvised and new music PARTITA RADICALE has been working together continuously. Inevitably, they have developed an unmistakable ensemble sound during their time together, combining chamber music aesthetics of contemporary music of the 20th and 21st centuries with playful forms of performative art. Now the ensemble is opening up to a young generation of musicians who are at the beginning of their careers and still searching for their own aesthetic direction. Partita Radicale has invited two young exceptional musical personalities from Wuppertal and Cologne, with whom they will work together on an equal footing across generations in a co-operation and thereby explore the field of tension between the generation of sound by acoustic instruments and electronic/digital media.
Fabian Neubauer (electronics, piano and various instruments), born in 1994, studied jazz at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen from 2013-2022. He lives in Wuppertal. Together with Gunda Gottschalk, he organises the regular session ‘no budget no audience’ at ORT.
Carlota Ramos (double bass), born in Portugal in 1996, lives in Leverkusen. She studied at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and continued her master's studies at the Cologne University of Music, Dance and Media in the fields of classical music / double bass and new music / double bass. She plays in the Notabu.ensemble and Ensemble ColLAB Cologne, among others.
